I spent two days exploring the Angkor Temples. Angkor Wat was just fabulous, but it wasn't my favorite temple..... Taprohm, or the jungle temple, was amazing. Evidently, the film, Tombraider, was filmed there. The Wat is extraordinary. Trees are literally growing on the sides of and on top of the temples with huge roots just grasping for the ground. It is a magnificent sight to see. There is so much history here and I knew so little about the Khmer Empire before arriving.
Met the film crew from NBC who did a documentary on the temples for that aired on the 15th. I was invited to attend the show, but unfortunately, just scheduled a flight home the same day to Los Angeles. Today's the 18th and I'm in San Diego. Sheelah and I will be exploring the coast of California from the 25th to the 15th of June..
